The United Kingdom wins the first edition of the European Cup
The English team earn its ticket for the world final of the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, together with the Danish team (2nd place) and the Portuguese team (3rd place).

Marcello Boccia, Francesco Boccia and Riccardo Patalani are the candidates who will have the privilege of representing their country in the prestigious final on 27 and 28 January 2013.
The selection took place in Italy, Rimini at the SIGEP, January 24th. 10 candidates participated, 3 have been selected for representing Italy to the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie.
Two brothers: Marcello and Francesco Boccia for the sugar and chocolate category and Riccardo Patalani for the ice category.
